Asmara — The inhabitants of Adi-Tsenaf, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, have now access to reliable potable water supply thanks to the newly implemented project at an expenditure of over 1.2 million Nakfa through the collaboration of the Central regional Administration and partners.
The inhabitants have also become beneficiaries of solar energy-generated electricity supply.
The potable water supply project included the digging of a 40 meters deep well, construction of water tankers with a capacity of holding 45,000 cubic meters of water, installation of a 2 km-long water pipelines and the construction of 3 water distribution stations. The inhabitants of Adi-Tsenaf used to fetch water that was not up to standard, according to reports.
Likewise, as a result of the task accomplished to install solar energy-generated power supply, each family is daily getting 4 to 5 hour electricity supply, smokeless ovens have been introduced.
The Administrator of the Central region, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, who inaugurated the facilities, stated that the implementation of the projects is in line with efforts to promote equitable social service in all parts of the country. He further pointed out that the majority of the villages in the region have access to potable water supply.
