Nigeria: NSCDC Deploys Joint Team to Combat Crime in FCT

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT command, in conjuction with NSCDC National Headquarters, has deployed members of the corps to monitor parks and garages to combat the activities of fraudsters and criminals who use the 'one chance' trick to rob passengers.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP by the Acting FCT command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Akinbumi Odf, stated that the command has executed a lot of missions during the end of the year in accordance to the mandate given to them by the federal government.

He added that members of the police were charged to ensure easy flow of vehicles during the new year season, and also ensure that there were accident free movement for commuters, and to work alongside other sister organisations like police, Road Safety, VIO and Fire Service. The National Headquarters of the command has positioned a standby medical rescue team along the highways to render first aid services and rescue lives in the case of emergency.

Also the Chief Superientendent of Corps (CSC), FCT command, Otoibhi Ehi Cyprian, explained that with this joint patrol, the command is doing its best by deploying its men to many strategic areas within the FCT, and commenced their commandant for motivating them for the job .He further urged the general public to cooperate with NSCDC members to fish out any vandals close to them, saying that people should avoid bushburning in the metropolis to avoid disaster within the FCT
