Nigeria: Global Infoswift, Atos Origin to Service Springbank's IT Environment

In a bid to strengthen its IT resilience, Springbank Nigeria Plc has engaged one of West Africa's foremost IT solutions provider, Global InfoSwift Technologies and their Strategic Partner Atos Origin to assess the bank's existing IT environment in order to gain insight into the IT delivery capability, alignment to business requirements and general health.

Thec deal involves Global InfoSwift's mandate to review Springbank's Application Architecture & Integration, Technology Architecture, IT governance and IT security and provide recommendations for corrective measures to enhance the performance of IT services and also provide strategic direction for future IT initiatives.

Global InfoSwift Technologies is an IT solutions provider dedicated to providing innovative and trusted solutions for complex problems in today's changing business environment. The company has strategic partnerships with Atos Origin, Symantec, Cisco, the Business Continuity Institute, and Oracle.

Global InfoSwift Technologies' client base includes the Central Bank of Nigeria, Afribank Plc, Telecoms companies, FMCGs and NGOs, Government Institutions and Para-statals and Atos Origin is an international information technology (IT) services company. Its business is turning client vision into results through the application of consulting, systems integration and managed operations. The company's annual revenues are EUR 5.5 billion and it employs over 47,000 people in 40 countries.

The company was the Worldwide Information Technology Partner for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Games, and is the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Following the CBN directive of July 6, 2004 on bank capitalisation and consolidation, ACB International Bank Plc, Citizens International Bank Plc, Fountain Trust Bank Plc, Guardian Express Bank Plc, Omega Bank Plc, and Trans International Bank Plc merged into one mega bank with the name Spring Bank Plc. The combined entity has shareholders' funds of N32.4 billion, total assets of N150 billion and over 200 branches spread across the country.

In its over three years of existence, Spring Bank Plc has been recognized for its excellent service both locally and beyond the shores of the country. In 2006, Spring Bank Plc was rated among the top 1000 banks in the World and 6th in Nigeria by the Banker Magazine, a subsidiary publication of the Financial Times of London.

In 2008, Spring Bank Plc received the Lagos State Education Award for its outstanding contribution to the development of Education in the State and also the Fame Award for Environment, which is an award for outstanding environment icons in the State.
