Mogadishu — The Ethiopian troops in Mogadishu have arrested former Mogadishu mayor, Mohamed Omar Habeb (Mohamed Dhere) on Wednesday evening, witnesses said.
The Ethiopian troops captured Mohamed Omar Habeb from a house he has been holed up for two days.
Residents say heavily armed Ethiopian soldiers arrived at the house in K4 in Mogadishu and immediately took him with them to unknown destination.
On Tuesday the Ethiopian forces disarmed the former mayor who was a very close to the ex Somali President Abdulahi Yusuf Ahmed.
The Ethiopian troops propping up Somalia's Western-backed government are expected to withdraw from Somalia.
