Kampala — THREE children have been reported dead in the last two weeks and seven others are in danger after being bitten by a rabid dog in Nyakasozi village in Kibaale district.
The LC1 chairman, Omuhereza Mutabazi, said: "We are worried the remaining seven children may also die because they have not received any treatment."
The dead have been identified as Alex Mubangizi 9, Omuhereza Tukamuhabwa 12 and another child only identified as Precious aged 12, a Primary Four pupil at Bugarama primary school and a son to Kamuhangire a local.
Mutabazi said the children died while barking like dogs. All the 10 children were bitten by one dog before it was killed. District health officer Dan Kyamanywa said they did not have the rabies vaccine in their stores.
