Luanda — Angola's minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga, on Tuesday here considered that the achievement of positive results in this sector demands greaterdiscipline, competence, rigour and professionalism by employees, ANGOP has learnt.
Making a speech at the yearend greetings ceremony, the official said the Agriculture Ministry has goals and results to achieve in 2009, in matters of forest and farming production, as well as in the generation of new jobs.
In matters of action, the minister mentioned the recent approval by the government of the executive programme of the Agriculture Ministry for 2009 that comprises the main structuring projects of the sector in various domains and in all provinces.
According to the minister, the executive programme is a guiding instrument of the activity of the Agriculture Ministry that will enable its monitoring and assessment its performance, correct mistakes and constraints in due time.
The minister announced that the peasants, small and medium farmers will deserve in the coming year a special attention so that they can expand their explorations and increase production.
"We have been working in co-ordination with other organs in order to grant credits to these producers, in a speedy way", the minister explained.
