The traditional ruler of Abaji and Chairman, FCT Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, yesterday called on residents of the FCT to continue to imbibe the culture of good neighbourliness and peaceful co-existence among each other.
Alhaji Yunusa, who gave the advice in his New Year message, said there is the need for every individual in respective of their tribes or religious background to live in peace and harmony for the progress of the FCT and the country at large.
"It is when we embrace each other as brothers and sisters and work as a team with out tribal, ethnic or religious sentiment, that peace, progress and development can be achieved," he noted.
He however advised resident's to ponder on their last year's actions with a view of correcting their mistakes and imbibing new virtues for the New Year, stressing that people need to learn the culture of forgiveness and be grateful to each other, in order to enhance peace in the society.
The traditional ruler reminded motorcyclists of the need for them to cooperate with the FRSC on traffic rules and crash helmet usage.
He said the enforcement of using crash helmet by the FRSC, is meant to safe guard their lives and that of their passengers.
The monarch commended the FRSC's corps marshal and chief executive for the efforts of his officials in curtailing road crashes on the highways.
