Eritrea: Elementary School Built in She'ib Sub-Zone

Asmara — In continuation of endeavors being made to ensure educational opportunities in all parts of the country, an elementary school has been constructed in Bisies, She'ib sub-zone.

The school equipped with five classrooms, staff offices and other facilities has already enrolled more than 170 students and that it could accommodate up to 250 students, according to Mr. Ali Ahmed, branch head of the Ministry of Education in the sub-zone. He further indicated that previously the students used to receive instruction in makeshift tents and that the newly built school is expected to promote female enrollment.

Reports indicated that there exist about 16 schools in She'ib sub-zone from elementary up to secondary level.
