Tunis — The Green Party for Progress has recently published the first issue of its weekly newspaper, "Le Tunisien". The 16-page bilingual (Arabic and French) publication, reports on the party's recent congress, as well as the expectations of the Tunisian political scene and the strengthening of the opposition press landscape.

Incidentally, the second issue of the weekly was published on January 1, 2009. Featuring the consequences on Palestinian civilians of the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza, the second issue of the newspaper also includes an article on Tunisia's projected first electricity producing nuclear plant.

With the publication of "Le Tunisien", all of Tunisia's opposition parties now have their own newspapers. They include, "Al Mostaqbal" (Movement of Socialist Democrats, MDS), "Al Watan" (Democratic Unionist Union, UDU), "Al Wahda" (Popular Unity Party, PUP), "Ettarik El Jedid" (Ettajdid), "Al Mawqef" (Popular Democratic Party, PDP), "Al Oufouk" (Social Liberal Party, PSL) and "Mouatinoun" of the Democratic Forum of Work and Freedoms, FDTL.
