Somalia: Ethiopian Troops Vacate a Base in Central Somalia

Balanbal — The Ethiopian troops who had military bases in Balanbal town in central Somalia have vacated a base in the town on Friday evening, witnesses told Shabelle radio

Residents have confirmed the vacation of the Ethiopian troops in Balanbal town and said that the troops went back to Somali regional state of Ethiopia where they have already entered in the town and reports from the town say that Ethiopian troops took more trucks that they had forcibly taken from the people of the town when they were leaving from the town.

The Ethiopian troops were reportedly conducted search operations in the town before their vacation and entered in Hardi village which is west side of Balanbal town Galgudud region which the Ethiopian troops killed a civilian man and taken many guns from the people who lived in that residences.

It not known why the Ethiopian soldiers left from the Balanbal town in Galgudud region but their withdrawal comes by a time a convoy of about thirty vehicles of the Ethiopian troops left from Somalia yesterday and preparing to withdraw all the Ethiopian troops from Somalia with in 5th of January 2009.

Ethiopian troops have invaded Somalia in 2006 by giving support to the Somali transitional government which was set up in Kenya 2004
