Mogadishu — At least five Ethiopian soldiers have been killed and more others wounded after heavy explosion targeted to the Ethiopian soldiers occurred between Ex-control Afgoi and former university of Somalia people in Mogadishu on Sunday, witnesses told Shabelle radio.
The blast occurred by a time the Ethiopian troops were walking on the road that connects Mogadishu and Afgoi town in Lower Shabelle region which the Ethiopian soldiers were making search operations on that road, killing five Ethiopian soldiers and injuring many others.
"Heavy explosion occurred between former university of Somali people and Ex-control Afgoi.I was one of the people who were walking near where the blast occurred and I have seen many dead bodies of Ethiopian troops and many others wounded in the blast,"one witnesses said.
After the explosion the Ethiopian soldiers halted the transportation and movement of the ordinary people who were traveling on that road which is very useful road that connects the Somali capital Mogadishu and Afgoi town which is thirty kilometers south of the capital Mogadishu.
It was two days before when similarly explosion targeted to the Ethiopian soldiers at around Three Biano building near Maka Al-mukarama road killed two Ethiopians soldiers and more other civilian casualties.
The accident of the explosion comes as the Ethiopian troops expected to withdraw from the whole Somali country for the following days.
The Ethiopian soldiers have entered Somalia 2006 backing by the weak transitional government of Somalia which was set up in the neighboring Kenya in 2004.
