Abuja — The National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation, NACOMYO, has condemned in its entirety what it described as "Israeli genocides in killing of defenceless women, men, and children as well as bombings and destruction of mosques, homes and other public infrastructure in Gaza causing the death of about 600 people in seven days."
NACOMYO is particularly irked by the acquiscent pronouncement and disposition of western government, especially the outgoing Bush administration, saying this is a "clear mainifestation of lack of respect for its claim to be the custodian of human rights principles and practices."
The group in a press release signed by its National President, Lawal Maidoki, and National Legal Adviser, Abdul Wahab Oyedokun, however, commended the unrelentiing efforts of the UN Secretary General and other peace loving world leaders who have spoken out against this Israeli murderous adventure" .
The group called on other well meaning people and civil society organisations to "help in putting an end to carnage in the Middle East.
The group also reinterated its condemnation of recent killings and wanton destruction of property that trailed the flawed local government elections conducted by the Plateau State government.
It accused the state government of making inflamatory statements and trying to frustrate the administrative panel of inquiry set up by the federal goverment. It then appealed to all concerned to give peace a chance.
