Minister of Information and Communications, Dora Akunyili, and the Minister of State, Aliyu Bilbis, have summoned a stakeholders' forum for telecoms providers to deliberate on some of the ills bedeviling the industry.
According to a statement by the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Charles Chikezie, the meeting is expected to create a forum where the minister would explore the challenges in the communication sector to fashion out measures that would make it operate optimally as well as derive full benefit for Nigerians.
The meeting is expected to begin on Tuesday, January 6 at the National Press Centre, Radio House, Abuja, at 10.30 a.m.
Officials of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), chief executives of all telecom operating companies (including Digital Mobile Licence (DML) and Private Network Links (PNL) operators), Internet Service Providers (ISP) among others are expected to be present at the forum.
