The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has assured that all the foreign based players that have been invited to the U-20 national team will be in Rwanda for the Africa Youth Championship (AYC) this month.
This was disclosed to our correspondent by a board member, Taiwo Ogunjobi, who said discussions were ongoing between the federation and the respective clubs in Europe.
"If they don't report to camp in Abuja, they should be in Rwanda for the tournament. We have been talking to the clubs, which I believe should be fruitful at the end of the day," explained Ogunjobi, who is also NFF technical committee chairman.
NFF needed to douse fears, owing to the insistence of the clubs that the players boycott the championship since it is not on the calendar of the Federation of International Football (FIFA) and return to Europe.
Already, the directive has been heeded by Rabiu Ibrahim of Sporting Club in Portugal and Udinese striker, Odion Ighalo, who both have returned to their bases.
The uncertainty surrounding the availability of players is the reason the coaching crew is delaying to name the final squad for the biennial tournament.
Deadline for the submission of team squads to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) in Egypt is January 8.
Still on Bosso, Ogunjobi refused to comment on the fate of the suspended coach, saying the board is meeting this week in Abuja.
"Whether he will still be in charge to Rwanda or his assistant, Ben Iroha, is what I cannot say," he said. He has however denied the report that Super Eagles head coach, Shuiabu Amodu, is taking over the team.
Bosso was suspended by NFF last Wednesday after making uncomplimentary remarks about its inability to sponsor the team to Kenya for training due to the absence of funds.
