Nigeria: Kaduna Gets 250 Motorcycles, 113 Vans for Crime Control

Kaduna — Intensifying its commitment towards fighting crime and other nefarious acts in the state. Governor Mohammed Namadi Sambo has stated that the state government purchased 113 patrol vans and 250 police motorcycles, in addition to 1000 bullet-proof vests for its security outfit tagged Operation Yaki.

Sambo, spoke through the state commissioner of Information, Alhaji Saidu Adamu, at the quarterly media briefing held in Kaduna. He further revealed that the state had procured another helicopter to complement the first one in its possession, which is presently being used for aerial patrol on the state's highways, as well as monitoring the pipelines of NNPC to forestall vandalisation.

The commissioner also said one of the helicopters had been loaned to the Joined Taskforce (JTF) to help in the surveillance of the Niger Delta, adding that the other helicopter, in addition to surveillance within the state, also covered the Abuja-Kaduna, Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari highways.
