Nigeria: Promoted JTF Officers Decorated in Warri

Warri — Security Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Restore Hope, has formally decorated several officers attached to it, who were recently elevated to various ranks at its Effurun Barracks headquarters near Warri, Delta State .

Speaking at the ceremony, which took place at the Officers' Mess, JTF Commander, Brig-General Naven Wuyep

Rimtip, advised the officers to make their watchwords integrity, and straight forwardness, urging them to seek to leave worthy legacies wherever they might be deployed to serve their fatherland.

He also urged them to respect the laws of the land, be diligent about due process and, "all your activities must be done with the fear of God."

The 11 officers promoted, the highest number since inception of JTF in 2003, include two from the rank of Lieutenant

Colonel to the rank of Colonel, including the Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre (JMCC), Rabe Abubakar, and Senior Operations Officer (SOO) Army, HQ JTF, Folorunso

Two Majors moved up to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, including the media co-ordinator's second-in-command, Omale Ochagwuba. Seven officers were also promoted Major, from the rank of Captain.

The Army Council promulgated the officers' promotion after "considering them outstanding and worthy in their respective fields of endeavour," the Chief of Staff (COS) JTF, Navy Captain M.A. Adeoye, said in his remarks at the ceremony.

In a related development, the JTF organised a farewell party for four of its officers redeployed to various army units and formations across the country. The officers are Lieutenant Colonel Nwankwo, Lt-Col Yellow-Duke, Major Adasu and Lietenant Amadu.
