Nigeria: As Iroha Banks On Eaglets Heroes

4 January 2009

After decamping 13 players from the Under-20 national team, Flying Eagles' camp, assistant gaffer of the team, Ben Iroha is happy that the victorious under-17 players, 2007 Golden Eaglets form the bulk of the squad, with about seven still in camp.

In an exclusive chat with brilafm.net at the team's camp in Abuja, Iroha disclosed that the coaches will blend the new players with the old, while expressing optimism that the team is ready to go.

"Most of the foreign-based players are potentials. We also have home-based players that have shown they can mix-up with those from abroad.

"We've blended them well and we are still working on the team. Fortunately for us, most of the players from the victorious Golden Eaglets made this team, and we can always count on them.

"It would make it easier to blend the team," Iroha concluded.
