South Africa: Bucs Agree to Release Modise

While interest from Europe continues to mount for the services of Bafana Bafana midfielder Teko Modise, KickOff.com has gathered that Orlando Pirates will only be prepared to release the player at the end of the season.

Bucs have continuously elbowed off interest for Modise, however, KickOff.com has been told that the club has finally agreed to release the 26-year-old when the current campaign ends.

"There is still a chance that Modise could still be heading off to England for an assessment during the current January transfer window, though he will only be making a move after the end of this season.

Pirates could be playing a waiting game as to bargain for a big pay off after the FIFA Confederations Cup in June when the world will be watching Bafana Bafana in action.

Fresh interest has arisen from an unnamed English Premiership outfit, but details remain sketchy. It is understood that either Hull City or Stoke are among the teams interested.

Hull chairman Paul Duffen has already indicated that there are players abroad that they have been monitoring throughout this season with the aim of signing in January or at the end of the season.

Meanwhile Pirates' players and technical staff, under the headship of head coach Rudolf Krol are already back in training.

Initially they gather on December 31 then took a rest over New Year and were back again on Friday, January 2.

"It really shows how strict, dedicated, hard working and passionate our head coach (Krol) is when it comes to his job. He is a true professional and very focused, something very important that has already rubbed-on to the players," Bucs' captain Lehlohonolo Seema told the club's website recently.
