Namibia: Bank Workers Build Triplets Mother a House

Winhoek — Orpa Dengee, a mother of triplets entered the New Year as a house owner, thanks to good-hearted staff members at Bank Windhoek.

Last year, the Head of Learning and Development Department at Bank Windhoek, Fillimon Ngairo, read about Dengee's plight and plea for help in the newspapers. Dengee, unemployed, had made an earnest request for clothes and food to the public after giving birth to the triplets, one daughter and two sons.

After reading the article, Ngairo sprung into action and gauged his 14 colleagues to contribute at least N$100 each.

All staff members chipped in, and word spread to two other departments, the Human Resources and the Corporate Division.

With the money collected, the employees bought zinc plates, cement bags and poles. However, instead of donating the materials to Dengee, the employees decided to build the house for her. Thus, the employees took off from work and donned overalls to build the house in Otjomuise. By evening, the house was standing complete with a cement floor.
