Sammy Adjei has hinted he will return to the Black Stars but only if the Ghana Football Association address some of his concerns.
The former national number one quit international football after the 2008 Nations Cup to concentrate on his club career as he grew increasingly frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities in the side.
But now Adjei says he is open to a return. "There is always a chance I will come back but the GFA will have to address some of the issues I raised first," he said.
"Since I said I have retired nobody has made any serious attempt to look at the issues that triggered it."
Adjei who is looking for a new club after he was released by Israeli side Modena Ashdod claims he is at present clubless because of the national side.
"I came to the Nations Cup even when the team did not want me to and the GFA know the trouble I went through. Yet I came to the tournament to warm the bench and returned to Israel with the club on the verge of being relegated."
"Even though I helped them stay up, they fear my national team commitments will interfere with my club duties and opted not to keep me."
With Richard Kingson inactive at club level, many feel Adjei will provide vital back up but GFA vice president Fred Pappoe reckons the goalkeeper will have to renounce his retirement first to stand any chance of getting back into the team.
"He said publicly that he is no longer interested in playing for the Black Stars so for anything to happen he will have to state his readiness to play again," Pappoe said.
