Ghana: El-Hadary Going Back Home?

According to FC Sion goalkeeper, Essam El-Hadary, Egyptian club Ismaily has made an offer for his services. "Ismaily opened talks with me over a possible move," disclosed the 35-year-old, who is currently nursing a knee injury.

"They also tabled an official bid but Sion are yet to respond because they are having their winter vacation." He added: "Ismaily are a big club, but Sion will have the last word on my future."

Ismaily's top official, Mohamed Salah Abou-Greisha, said in a television interview: "Ismaily started negotiations with Sion after El-Hadary revealed his willingness to accept the offer.

"We are yet to know Sion's financial demands. We can discuss the details when they table their offer."

The possibility of the 102-time Egypt shot-stopper returning to Ahly has been shot down by the Cairo club. Ahly official Hadi Khashaba insisted El-Hadary will not be welcome back to the club he left in acriminous circumstances.

The international goalkeeper completed his deal with Sion nearly a year ago without the consent of Ahly by invoking Article 17 of FIFA regulations that allows a player to cancel his contract after a 'protected period'.

It was a move that cost him a lot of his huge popularity, particularly among Ahly fans.
