Kaduna — Northern Nigerian social-cultural apex group, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has charged both President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua and Governor Jonah Jang to be wary of tendencies that could mean ill for the Plateau and the nation at large towards resolving the sectarian crisis that engulfed the state, and the ongoing cold war emanating from the parallel commissions set up by both the Federal and Plateau state governments.

In an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP, its National Publicity Secretary, Anthony N.Z.Sani, said "I must say that ACF has not met since the advent of the saga.

However, I am confident that the issue is simple because the constitution is clear enough when it vests the security of the Plateau State under the watch of both the president and the governor since a state is a part of the federation-without barring the duo from meeting and taking common positions for the express purpose of cutting the Gordian Knot of the problems in the Plateau".

Agreeing that the matter is a constitutional one and the need to find common good, without rancour the ACF's spokesperson argued "Mr. President and Governor Jang are at liberty to meet in a tryst for assignation on this very important matter.

Politics of 'true federalism' and 'unitary system' can wait for constitutional amendment that is around the corner.

After-all, the law is made for man and not the other way round. That may explain why the US legendary banker, J.P.Morgan, could say, however good a law may be, it cannot replace positive human judgment. Mr.President and Jang are allowed by the constitution to work together and solve the problems in Plateau State for common good of the North, the nation and for the good of core values of humanity".
