Nigeria: Star Eaglets Raise Iroha's Hopes

ASSISTANT coach of the Flying Eagles campaigning in the African Youth Championship (AYC), Ben Iroha has heaved sigh of relief following the arrival of the foreign-based players to the team's camp in Abuja.

Speaking on phone from the team's base shortly after their morning training yesterday, the former Super Eagles defender confirmed that the arrival of the players has restored high hope of the country's chances at the championship. He said the players are in high spirit and rearing to go.

"I am very satisfied with their form, they have been so wonderful. We are prepared for the tournament. The players know what is at stake, they also know that the whole world is looking at them when especially, the team is almost made up of boys from the World U-17 conquering squad. We have done our work for them. They (players) have to go all out to tell them that they are the best. The boys are ready and want to go there and make us proud", he said.

Among the top players in camp as at yesterday include Kingsley Umahu of AC Milan, Marcurley Chrisantus, Kingsley Udoh, Oseni Ganiyu of CSK Moscow and Emile Frank of Dynamos Kiev.

Coach Iroha however confirmed that the final list of the players will be made public after their match with Heartland of Owerri in Abuja. just have to go there and do the country proud:.
