Military authorities yesterday in Jos denied media reports that some military items, including Nigerian Army uniforms, were found in possession of the 26 persons arrested last Friday.
The denial was contained in a statement by the Assistant Direc-tor Army Public Relations for 3rd Armored Division Jos, Colonel A.A. Dabiri.
The statement said, "to an unsuspecting individual their outfits may be confused with that of members of the security agencies including the military as erroneously reported by the media".
Dabiri also said, "none of the items found with these hoodlums came from the inventory of the Nigerian Army, the style of sewing of the uniforms worn by them does not conform with the Nigerian Army dress regulations".
He said the arrest of the gang was sequel to the vigilance of the military troops deployed to the UTC junction within Jos metropolis who are currently consolidating on the attained peace efforts as a result of the recent Jos crisis.
