Nigeria: Army Will Continue to Support Educational Development, Says GOC 82 Division

Enugu — THE General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Nigeria Army, Enugu, Major General Adamu Ibrahim yesterday commissioned newly constructed 14 classroom -- one storey building at the Command Day Secondary School, Enugu with an assurance that the army would continue to support the development of education in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony which attracted senior army officers, the GOC said education plays a major role in the development of any nation stressing that the military had initiated the command schools to ensure that the youths were properly educated with the required discipline that would enable them face future challenges.

Applauding members of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the institution for partnering with the school authorities for the construction of the building, Ibrahim said the feat would remain a reference point for other command schools across the country as such a gigantic project has never been executed by any parents association in other command schools.

The GOC, however, promised that the army would in partnership with the school authorities furnish the 14 classrooms to ensure conducive learning environment for the students and teachers in the school.
