Luanda — Petro Atlético de Luanda's football team coach, Bernardino Pedroto, on Sunday here said that his team are stronger and ready for the coming football season, ANGOP has learnt.
The coach was speaking after a training session held at Demóstenes de Almeida complex, marking thus the opening and preparation of the team for the coming competitions.
According to Bernardino Pedroto, this is so because Petro can still count on all the players that won the last championship for the club and two new reinforcements.
"We are stronger because the nucleus of athletes is the same and they know the methods and ways of working, therefore this is a great step for a team that intend to retain the title and go far at the African cups", he explained.
Bernardino Pedroto added that the two reinforcements, Locó and Papy, will stimulate the team, due to their experience at the level of national and African competitions.
The coach also said that the team want to sign Niger's striker Mussa Hamed, whose negotiations are being conducted by an official of Petro de Luanda.
Until Tuesday, the team will work in physical aspects and on January 13 they will travel to Namibia, where they will stay until January 29.
Petro de Luanda are to play on February 01 against Swaziland's Royal Leopards FC for a first-leg match of access to the groups phase of the African champions league.
