Monrovia — The festive celebrations which marked the New Year Day became soured for residents of Sankanmoore Community along the SKD Boulevard in Congo Town when a member of that community got drowned.

Sixteen year old Junior Dixon drowned in the Atlantic Ocean on New Year near the T.B Annex in Congo Town, near Monrovia.

According to Ben Gboyo, a relative of the deceased, Junior got drowned while swimming in the ocean.

Mr. Gboyo said Junior and six of his colleagues went on the beach to play soccer that fateful day but they decided to swim after the game.

According Gboyo, Junior's body has since not been found following an intensive search.
