Angola: Defender Locô Pledges to Fight to Stay in Starts

6 January 2009

Luanda — Defender Manuel Cange "Locó", one of the reinforcements of Petro de Luanda for the coming football season, on Monday here said he will fight to be in the initial eleven team throughout the championship, ANGOP has learnt.

The player was speaking to the press during the session that served to present the Petro Atlético's squad that will operate in the 2009 football season.

He acknowledged that it will not be easy to stay in the initial team, "since the other players come from the previous football season as a group familiar to one another".

"I have to work hard to convince the coach to let me stay in the starts, since my colleagues also want the same", he explained.

Locó, who is getting back to Petro de Luanda after five years out, said he knows the team well.

"I have already been champion with 1º de Agosto, now I want to win the championship with Petro de Luanda, a team that I know well".
