Eritrea: Patriarch Gives Benediction

Asmara — His Holiness Abune Dioskoros, Patriarch of Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, gave benediction to the entire Eritrean people in connection with the Geez Christmas holiday.

The Patriarch wished Merry X-Mas to the faithful inside the country and abroad, as well as members of the Defense Force engaged in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and reinforcing the development drive. He further stressed the need to extend a helping hand to needy compatriots.

His Holiness Abune Dioskoros also expressed goodwill that 2009 would be a year of peace and prosperity.

    The great nation of Eritrea, a beautiful mosaic of nine ethnic nationalities whose population is evenly divided between Christians and Muslims, a model of cultural and religious Harmony based on historical and deep rooted traditions of religious tolerance and cultural harmony. God Bless Eritrea.
