Solomon Nda-Isaiah

7 January 2009

Serving as a unifying symbol of the Nigerian State, city of Pride for all Nigerians. The present leadership of Nigeria has demonstrated not only the courage but the zeal to take this vision to the next level.

This was demonstrated when Dream Project Team, United Artistes for Democracy Advocacy in Africa (UNADAAF) and Ask Nigeria Survey Visited the office of the vice president of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to intimate him on their intention to embark on a unity musical project of the federation and to promote Nigeria's image and attract Foreign Investment! Tourism using Abuja as a window. Accoding to Chielo Onyima Ojinka aka Chiboy "the black courage" the Nigerian music ambassador to Germany who is the Diaspora project coordinator.

Music has been identified as a powerful instrument of information dissemination ,social mobilisation and emancipation of the people, to this extent, the United Artistes for the Democracy Advocacy in Africa (UNADAAF) a group comprising of both Nigerian International and home based artistes who seek to promote and propagate Unity, Peace and Democracy in Nigeria though Music has Produced a unity theme song to instill a sense of patriotism, Peace and love to our citizenry, the song is educative, attractive and entertaining as it is a synergy of young Nigerian Artistes and Children.

Chiboy said that the Unity image making project is tagged Dream City 2009 "Discover the Abundant Opportunities of a Green Land" will cover the following areas; uphold Abuja as indeed the center of our unity, project and promote Nigeria as first class Foreigners loving citizens, promote spirit of patriotism among Nigerians to appreciate, embrace, celebrate, be proud and work for Nigeria further promote our democracy and restore Nigeria's almost lost glory, launder and promote Nigeria using music, Video and expos as tools.

It is scheduled for the first quarter of 2009 in Abuja while the national tour kicks off immediately after the Abuja launch.

According to the coordinator, Chiboy (The Black Courage) Nigeria is blessed with a lot of tourism attractions but inadequate marketing and exposure have been the bane of their non development and profitability.

He posited that since the developed countries use Music and other forms of arts to market their tourism and investment potentials, Nigerian Stands to gain a lot from the project which is aimed at showcasing our inherent natural endowments using music as a veritable weapon.

The first phase of the Dream Project drew lovers of music and tourism together for cross fertilisation of ideals and had in attendance representative from Nigeria investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) Abuja investment and property development company(AIPDC), Nigeria tourism Development Commission (NTDC)

It is no overstatement that most people in the western world do not know Abuja and its rich cultural, Tourism and investments potentials but do you know the dream of the Federal government of Nigeria has always been to make the city a beautiful place that can be comparable to any city in the world? The belief by most people in the west is that Africa is less developed world and nothing often seems good about us. The project aims at selling Abuja to the rest of the world, let them understand that cities like New York, Tokyo and Berlin amongst others have some similarities to what is obtainable here. What sounded strange and unusual with Chi boy was his philanthropic nature. He would go at any length to make sure he contributes some quota in complimenting government's effort in the realisation of Vision 2020 using music, I want to really tell the rest of the world that Nigeria has come of age he said. The international community should begin to explore the investment opportunities in Nigeria, we should be able to further promote our unity in diversity. The project have received quite an impressive response from stakeholders, private sectors, both government and nongovernmental organisations.

Just recently a Japan-based NGO(African Life Saver) identified with the project.

The NGO led by Tamura Masaru and Cyprian Wise promised to support the project in the areas of bringing investments and technologies from Japan in tourism, agricultures, Health, power generation, youth empowerment and skill acquisition. Towards the pursuit of this patriotic goal, the Nigeria born international musician who is the first Nigeria artiste to have topped the top - 10 internet chart in Germany said that Nigeria's dented image at the international scene has been assured of cleansing through this project's second phase which components includes Diplomatic Cultural Exchange, International Expo and musical Festival it is in collaboration with the Federal capital Territory Administration, Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Federal Ministry of information and Communication as well as the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria represented by Senator Dahiru B.
