Nigeria: Councillor Gives Scholarship to 50 Students

7 January 2009

In a bid to enhance education in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the councilor representing Garki ward, Hon. Halidu Adamu, has awarded scholarship to 50 students in higher institutions.

Adamu, who visited his ward during the weekend, urged the beneficiaries to utilise the money given to them for their education because education is the key to success and that they should not waste the money in ways that would not benefit them academically.

Receiving the scholarship, one of the beneficiaries commended Hon. Adamu for his kind gesture and promised to use the money for its purposes.

The beneficiaries called on other politicians to emulate the kind gesture of Hon. Adamu in order to encourage more people to develop them academically.
