Francistown — Francistown's 22 year old Tshepo Timothy John, also known as 'Tha Flippa' has recently released an 18 track Hip Hop album titled The Hidden Script.

Tha Flippa says his album was released late last year. His songs are already receiving massive airplay on the local radio stations.

Flippa says that he earned his name from the way he raps. "I have all sorts and kinds of flows. I can play around with words," he says. Tha Flippa says he chose to sing Hip Hop because where he grew up that genre was the most popular.

"I grew up in Francistown and most people my age listened to Hip-Hop and Tu Pac Shakur was everyone's favourite and my great inspiration," he says.

In his album Tha Flippa does not forget the youth and HIV and Aids issues. On his track titled Killer Disease he says he wanted to communicate to the youth about HIV in a language that they understood better."Hip-Hop is undoubtedly the music that most youth listen to so I thought that if I used hip-hop to try and convey the message to them it could be better," he says. Killer Disease is currently receiving a lot of airplay in RB1.

The Hidden Script was recorded at Live Wire Studios under the Soul Rhythms label in Ramotswa.

One other track that is receiving a lot of response is The Real Ghetto Son featuring Chantty Killer. The Real Ghetto Son has already has already been recorded in video format in Francistown.

"The video is complete and it was shot by Tony T under Tru Jam Productions," he said. Tha Flippa says that he chose to make a video for this particular song because all his lyrics talk about Francistown and they match exactly what he wants to do in the industry. "We shot the video in Francistown using Francistown buildings and famous streets like Blue Jacket," he added. He says that the video is already lined up for television.

Tha Flippa says that he was also inspired by artists like The Game, T.I. and other artists from United States of America. He says that unlike most hip-hop artists here he sings strictly hip-hop with no Motswako.
