THE chairman of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi said Flying Eagles coach, Isa Ladan Bosso was spared by the technical committee for his unsavoury and uncomplimentary comments concerning the botched trip of the Flying Eagles to Kenya due to the fact that the African Youth Championship is only days ahead in Rwanda.
Ogunjobi, disclosed this to Brila FM.. He said that changing a coach or any member of the technical crew of the team with just few weeks to the kick-off of the Championship would be very inimical to progress of the team.
He reiterated that in order to build cohesion and continuity in the team, Bosso was allowed to still be in charge of the team and would be assisted by former Super Eagles defender, Benedict Iroha.
He stated that the team would jet-out from the country tomorrow. The team played a friendly match with Premier League club Heartland FC of Owerri last night in Abuja.
The Championship kicks-off on the 18th of January 2009, in Kigali, Rwanda and Nigeria have been paired in Group B alongside Cote'D Iviore, Egypt and South Africa. Bosso had condemned the FA for cancelling their training tour of Kenya.
