Lagos — The South West Zonal Representative on the board of Judo Federation of Nigeria, Dr. Musa O. Oshodi in conjunction with the National Sports Commission, South West Zone is organizing the maiden edition of Zone 1 (open) Judo Championship and Coaching Clinic between Wednesday, 28th and Friday 30th of January 2009 at the Indoor Sports Hall of Liberty Stadium, Ibadan .

According to Aruben Peter who spoke on behalf of the Zonal Coordinator, the championship and coaching clinic are being organized to update the skills of coaches and athletes alike within the zone with a view to keeping them abreast of the current international standard and enhancing their performances at the forth coming National Sports Festival in Kaduna .

The theme of the Championship and Coaching is: "Expanding the knowledge base of the judokas in the South West.
