Two of the three helicopters on order for the Botswana Police Service are scheduled to fly in from Johannesburg's Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa next Wednesday, according to the BPS public relations office.

The long awaited copters will be commissioned and stationed at the Sir Serste Khama International Airport whilst the seven police graduates of the Starlite Aviation academy based in Durban, also in South Africa, familiarise themselves with the birds.

Commissioner of Police, Thebeyame Tsimako, and representatives of Eurocopter Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd, will attend a 'factory acceptance' ceremony on Tuesday, according to police PRO office.

The helicopters will be issued to the Police air Support Branch to help pursue traffic offenders and to fight other forms of crime, the police say.

The public will be permitted an opportunity to view the new planes worth well over P100 million.
