Pop Star Botswana has wasted no time in launching the search for new talent in 2009.

The first auditions are scheduled for this Saturday at Yarona Country Lodge in Mogoditshane. The auditions will be open to all registered contestants. Registration will continue on the day of auditions.

Following the Gaborone auditions, the Pop Star team will hold auditions in Lobatse at the Cumberland Hotel on Saturday January 17.

The following Saturday January 24, the auditioning team will head to Palapye for the last leg, which will serve hopefuls from the central and northern districts. The Palapye auditions will be held at Cresta Botsalo.

Ragga musician, producer and founder of 'Pop Stars Botswana', Keabetswe 'Master Dee' Sesinyi, says they decided on Palapye because it is central. His team will assess interest in other areas to see if it will be worth hosting auditions in those particular areas.

The Pop Star Botswana talent search started in 2007 and the title was scooped then by Tshepo Dikomang and the 2008 Pop Star Botswana was won by the talented, Tebogo Tlhagadikgora.

Both winners recorded their debut albums in the United Kingdom. Tlhagadikgora's R&B debut album How I Wish was released recently and it is already receiving airplay in some local radio stations. His video also showing on Botswana Television (Btv).
