Angola: Military Registration for 1991-Born Man Soon

Luanda — Male citizens turning 18 this year shall register for the military from January 12 to February 28, according to a note from the National Defence Ministry, delivered Thursday to Angop.

According to the document, military registration is compulsory to all Angolan males born from January 1 to 31 December 1991, residents or no-residents of the national territory.

The document explains that the registration represents a yearly procedure intended to establish the existing human potential under the process of conscription.

Citizens who fall under the military legislation are to submit the following documents:

Identity Card (or birth certificate) photocopy, four passport size pictures, school or work certificate and certificate of residence.

The registration will be held in villages, communal and municipal administrations, diplomatic missions overseas, hospitals and prisons as well as other regions to be decided by the institutions responsible for the process.
