Kampala — WESTERN Union has launched a "Go East African Promotion" in which clients will triple the money sent or received.
The promotion, which will take place in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, DR Congo and Rwanda, started on December 15, 2008 and will end on February 28.
Clients need to fill in competition coupons at all participating agents each time they receive or send money.
"This is a first time type of promotion," Nthabiseng Moloi, the East Africa and Indian Ocean Island regional manager, said.
"This is the beginning of many similar campaigns," Moloi said.
The Ugandan agents include Barclays, Diamond Trust, Crane, Centenary Bank and Post banks.
