Uganda/Burundi: Burundi Warn Hosts

10 January 2009

Kampala — BURUNDI coach Cedric Kaze has warned Uganda to expect a gruelling semi-final when the two sides face-off at Namboole stadium today.

At 28 years, Kaze is the youngest and east experienced tactician in the Challenge Cup this year.

He was elevated from the junior teams to the senior team only last year.

But Kaze down played his inexperience and told The New Vision that its the Cranes who would be under pressure to deliver infront of their home fans.

"It will not be easy for Uganda. There is already so much pressure for them to win this Cup. Everybody expects that," Kaze said with a chuckle.

He added that for me, "inexperience is not the point. I have coached this team for one year and I have developed most of the players from their cadet ranks."

Enroute to the semis, Kaze managed two wins against Djibouti and Sudan, picked a draw against Zambia before losing to Kenya.

Burundi still qualified as runners up in group B. Kaze is critical about the officiating in the competition. He feels a majority of match officials have not matched the expected standards.
