He maintained that Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony would mark a complete departure from the politics of hatred, discrimination and segregation in the international community.
"Since he has decided to tow the path of rectitude to bring about peace and harmony to United States of America and its allies world-wide, our churches should pray for a hitch-free swearing-in ceremony to enable to fulfill his aspiration," Akpabio enjoined.
He congratulated Umanah on his recent appointment as a commissioner in the face of more than 20,000 qualified people for the same position, emphasising that: "When God gives you a position you have cause to go back to the foundation to thank Him". The State Chief Executive remarked that God Almighty installs leadership in every society, explaining that He appoints leaders to any position according to the dominant nature of the people, affirming that "As good people, God appoints for you a caring government. If the people are evil, God gives them a leader suitable for them."

The General Superintendent of Qua Iboe Church Nigeria, Rev (Dr.) David Udo Udom prayed for the governor's spiritual immunity against devilish traps, sycophants and enemies seen as handiwork of Satan. He described the governor as the pride of Annang people, advising him to claim with the bravery the mantle of leadership and rule according to God's direction.
The Township Pastor, Rev. Enefiok Obot who in a scriptural exposition elucidated on the theme "The Year of God's Miracle in Akwa Ibom", read from Isaiah 35:1-6, appealed to Akwa Ibom to be obedient, sincere and respectful to the present government, maintaining that as God's will is manifested in the state leadership, every difficult condition would be made easy as God provided water in the desert and in the wilderness for the people of Isreal during their escape from Egypt and captivity in Babylon.
