VICE Chancellor of the Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. John Enaohwo has restated the commitment of the University authority to continue to instill academic and moral discipline on students of the University through suspension or expulsion of students found wanting particularly in secret cult and examination malpractice.
Enaohwo stated this Friday night at Abraka while fielding questions from journalists during the end of year party organized by Senior Staff Club of the University.
According to him, there were no sacred cows in disciplining the students, adding that objectivity was his watchword. He said: "The day your report gets to my table either as an examination cheat or as a cultist, I act on it immediately."
"I do not give room for lobby; I do not give room for pleading. By the time you wake up in the following morning your name is on the Board and you go away, either on suspension or rustication. You know that has helped in cleaning the system tremendously."
President of the Senior Staff Club, Engr. Bright Akpomie who also fielded question from journalists during the ceremony, thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Enaohwo for intervening in the club through the development of the club's infrastructures.
While advocating for increase funding of the University, he said most of the capital projects of the University were being executed with internally generated revenue.
Akpomie who is also the Director of Works of the University, noted that if the University must grow, the bills must be passed to the parents, and appealed to parents not to relent in paying the fees of their children.
