Tunis — During his meeting on Tuesday with the new ALECSO Secretary General, Mr Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour, President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali highlighted the importance of boosting Arab action in the sectors of education, culture and the sciences.
The new Secretary General of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), presented President Ben Ali with the organization's projects relative to the management and implementation of its programs. He pointed out the respect enjoyed by Tunisia under the leadership of President Ben Ali, among all the Arab leaders.
ALECSO whose permanent seat is in Tunis, aims at promoting Arab thought between countries of the Arab world, through education, culture and the sciences. It also aims at fostering dialogue and cooperation between Arab culture and world cultures.
