Soccer fans in Rivers have expressed optimism that Sharks FC of Port Harcourt would win this year's league. The Rivers team, which will be guests to Rangers FC of Enugu this weekend, beat Kaduna United 1-0 at the Kaduna Township Stadium in an away match last week.
Mr Henry Efe, a Sharks' fan, said that the team's new spirit showed that it was prepared to win the league this season."Looking at their play last weekend, you will see a deep sense of dedication and commitment, even when they were one man down," he said.
Another fan, Chukwu Bune, said that the current form of the team was as a result of hard work and pre-season preparation."No good result comes without hard work; to me what we are seeing now is an organised team, we should just urge them to keep it up," he said.
"As you can see, the technical crew led by Khadiri Ikhana is sound, we all know they have pedigree; with their current performance, some of us, who are supporters of the team have strong hopes that better results are underway," he added.
