Ekiti State Government is to spend N112.5 million on the rehabilitation of Ikogosi Warm Spring Tourist Centre at Ikogosi-Ekiti.
Governor Segun Oni, who made this known in a chat with newsmen on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti, noted that the centre was one of the eight warm spring sites in the world.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ikogosi Warm Spring Centre was established as a tourist site about 20 years ago.
It was, however, abandoned by the previous administrations in the state due to lack of funds.
Oni explained that the rehabilitation was part of government's efforts at promoting and developing tourism potentials of the state.
He said: "The state government has set aside N112.5 million toward the rehabilitation of Ikogosi Warm Spring and Resort this fiscal year.
"We shall provide every necessary encouragement to investors to develop the existing opportunities in the area of culture and tourism in the state."
