Officials of the Lagos State Football Association have been summoned to the Secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation for a crucial meeting on Monday morning.
This followed the presentation of a report by Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi on the recent crisis that engulfed the State FA. The FA was thrown into confusion following a move by the Lagos State Ministry of Sports to remove ex -international Mr Waidi Akanni as chairman, on a charge of failing to deliver monetary rewards of a tournament.
However, the Nigeria Football Federation mandated its technical committee chairman, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, in his capacity as Chairman of State FA Chairmen, to mediate and get to the root of the matter. Chief Ogunjobi in turn set up a panel headed by Oyo State FA chairman, Barrister Leye Adepoju to look into the matter.
"The committee headed by Barrister Adepoju has submitted its report, and I have told Mr Waidi Akanni to react to it. It on the basis of the report that I have submitted following all these reports, that the NFF President has invited the Lagos State FA executives to a meeting in Abuja on Monday morning", said Ogunjobi. The Lagos State FA executive committee also includes Taiwo Afinnih, Mr Tade Aziz, Mr Frank Ilaboya and Mr Olu Lagunju.
