Rwanda: Ecobank Launches Remera Branch

Ecobank last week officially launched a new branch in Remera, bringing the total of their offices countrywide to 17.

At the launch, Minister of Finance James Musoni thanked the management of the bank for turning the bank around saying, after the collapse of the then BCDI.

He said that it was positive for people to have easy access to Ecobank's services, which he added is in contrast with the situation of the past when BCDI was not well organized.

However, he pointed out that one of the main obstacles for the banking sector is the lack of human capital, and said that the government is ready to support the sector.

Daniel Sackey, the managing director of Ecobank, said that launch of the Remera branch is in line with the company's organizational structure aimed at bringing services close to their customers. He added that other new branches will be set up elsewhere so as to cover the whole country.
