Zimbabwe: Fungisai Blessed With Baby Girl

13 January 2009

Harare — GOSPEL diva Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave was recently blessed with a bouncing baby girl.

Her newborn baby, Matipanyasha was delivered on December 3 at Baines Avenue Clinic in Harare.

Matipanyasha is Fungisai's second child after Tawananyasha born in 2005.

The baby, Fungisai said, would not deter her from carrying out live shows among other commitments.

"I am going ahead with live shows having lined-up a series of them in the first quarter of the year.

"As for my new year's resolutions, I am working on my new album due for release soon and I will name it after Matipanyasha.

"And if you recall, I also named another album after my first born Tawananyasha which did very well on the local charts," she said.

She added: "We are also happy that our family has grown bigger and we are praying that God helps us look after it."

Asked how she was balancing her musical commitments and family, Fungisai said: "It's very simple. You ought to plan first and then pray to God to help you manage."
