Staff of Seven-Up Bottling Company Abuja Plant recently donated gift items to Bema Homes for the less privileged, as part of their corporate social responsibility to the community they operate from.

The home suffered demolition at Karimo and is now situated at Sauka Mararaba, a suburb outside Abuja. In an address, the home's Director, Mr Benedict Jereke said the home is a non-governmental organisation that uses mobilized community resources to assist the physically challenged, orphans as well as children from impoverished backgrounds in order to secure a better future for them through the provision of free quality education.

He said through such help, the generational cycle of poverty existing in their families will be broken, which will ultimately reduce social vices and criminality among the children.

Responding, the Human Resource Manager of 7Up, Mr. Segun Adeleke expressed his delight for the positive changes at the home since his last visit.

"It is a worthy course that will go a long way to make the home comfortable and we promise to supply monthly sampling as well as frequent visits by 7Up Abuja welfare committee members," he said.

7Up Plant's Security Manager, Taiwo Adedoja also commended the home for the way in which they are catering for the children.

Highlights of the event were the presentation of gifts items by 7Up staff to 78 children of the home that later rendered songs of appreciation to the company.
