Abuja — Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sealed up a mini-estate at Aso Rock Villa registered in the name of the Managing Director of Security Properties Development Consortium (SPDC), Idris Usman.

An EFCC source told Daily Independent in Abuja on Tuesday that the estate, even though it is registered in the MD's name, is linked with embattled former Federal Capital City (FCT) Minister, Nasir el-Rufai.

The anti-graft commission had on Monday raided the company, which is alleged to belong to el-Rufai.

The MD along side five other staff of the company were arrested on allegations of land racketeering.

Operatives of the commission, during the raid, recovered documents reportedly belonging to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The documents include land allocation forms and lists of revoked lands made by the administration of el-Rufai.

Meanwhile, the MD of SPDC, Usman, and his staff who were arrested on Monday were released on bail from custody of the EFCC after one day in detention.

It was gathered that the MD's international passport has been seized by the commission while one of the staff is still being held for failing to submit his travel documents.

Head of EFCC Media and Publicity, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the sealing up of the estate but declined further comment.

It will be recalled that the ex-minister was recently declared wanted by the EFCC over alleged economic crimes and abuse of office, including the misappropriation of the balance of N32 billion accruing from the sale of Federal Government houses in Abuja and all funds collected by the Satellite Towns Development Agency, Abuja Investments and Security Property Development Company Limited.
