Luanda — The Angolan cartoonist, Sérgio Piçarra, defended Tuesday in Luanda, the creation of professional upgrading courses, in order to allow the emergence of more cartoonists.
In statements to Angop, in light to the tribute conceded by the Angolan ministry of Culture to the artist, Sérgio Piçarra regretted the fact for not existing in the country a school on this sector, a fact, which in his opinion has hampered the emergence of more cartoonists.
According to Sérgio Piçarra, one of greatest obstacles on the work developed is the lack of financial incentives. "Without money it has been very difficult to execute our work. Only with many persistence and commitment we can make some interesting things", he said.
The cartoonist launched recently the Journal "Kissonde", in which the main attractive are humour and cartoon.
Published monthly, the Journal costs 200 Kwanzas and is composed of 16 pages, of which 2 are coloured and on the cover it makes a historic review of the cartoon movement in the country.
